Elizabeth Berens
Creative Advertising, Michigan State University
CREATIVE THINKER

My parents say I've been creative since I could pick up a crayon. In middle school I discovered and fell in love with Paint Shop Pro (thanks Dad!), but luckily soon discovered Photoshop (thanks Nate!). Growing up, I loved design, but didn't know how to translate that skill into a career.

My mom's an accountant for an advertising agency. In high school she took me to the creative offices, knowing I’d get a kick out of it. I saw people working with Illustrator on giant Mac's, storyboards lining corkboard walls, brands I recognized, commercials I'd seen. Not to mention the mod décor and game room! This
is what I’d been looking for. This is the medium I want to express myself through.

And so today, unsurprisingly, I'm a happy graduate from the Michigan State Creative Advertising program. With this education, I've taken on agency internships and design work that has given me invaluable insights into advertising in the real world.

You now know my past. We can work together to discover my future.
